YouTube TV price (October 2026) and how to cancel

Last updated: · By the CostToCancel editorial team
Applies to: YouTube TV memberships in the US (main plan and genre plans), billed by YouTube TV / Google or by a mobile carrier or internet provider. YouTube Premium is separate.
Quick answer

In the US (as of 2026-10-18), the main YouTube TV plan costs $82.99/month plus tax (YouTube TV Help: billing; explore plans). To cancel, open YouTube TV, select your profile photo, go to Settings > Membership, click Manage, then click Cancel membership (YouTube TV Help: Cancel or pause).

You keep access until the end of the payment period. There is no cancellation fee. Pausing (4 weeks to 6 months) is an option if you want a break without losing recordings right away.

YouTube TV is live TV, not YouTube Premium. Add-ons and taxes make the bill higher than the base plan alone - check Membership before you cancel so you know what you are ending.

How to cancel YouTube TV

Cancel your membership

  1. Open the YouTube TV app or go to tv.youtube.com and sign in.
  2. Select your profile photo.
  3. Go to Settings > Membership.
  4. Click Manage, then Cancel membership.
  5. Confirm and note when access ends.

If a carrier or ISP bills you

  1. Cancel or remove YouTube TV in that provider's account, following their instructions.
  2. YouTube TV Help says some plan changes are only available when you bill Google directly.

Pause instead (optional)

  1. In Settings > Membership, use the pause controls.
  2. Choose a length from 4 weeks up to 6 months, then click Pause.
  3. The pause starts after the current billing cycle; you cannot watch during the pause, and billing resumes when it ends.

How to know it worked

You're done when:

  • Membership no longer shows an upcoming renewal (or shows the cancel/pause end date).
  • You keep access only until the end of the current payment period after a cancel.

If it didn't work

  • You only deleted the app or signed out. That does not cancel. Use Settings > Membership > Manage > Cancel membership.
  • Partner billing. The in-app cancel path may not apply - cancel with the carrier or ISP that bills you.
  • Add-ons still on the bill. Cancelling the YouTube TV plan cancels add-ons with it per YouTube TV Help; if a partner bills an add-on separately, remove it there too.
  • Partial-month refund. YouTube TV Help's FAQ says there are no refunds for partial billing periods.
  • DVR after cancel. Recordings expire 21 days after the payment period ends; library preferences may be saved if you rejoin later.

What we verified

Verified on official YouTube TV pages (October 18, 2026): main plan $82.99 + tax/month (billing help, explore plans); cancel path profile > Settings > Membership > Manage > Cancel membership (cancel help); access until end of payment period; pause 4 weeks to 6 months; no cancellation fee; no partial-period refunds; recordings expire 21 days after cancel; carrier/ISP integrated billing and plan-switching limits (Learn about plans).

Not verified - left out: locking in a single Sports or genre-plan dollar amount (explore-plans shows both promo and post-promo figures); Apple/Google Play as common billers (Help emphasizes carrier/ISP partners); exact add-on dollar amounts.

Pause vs cancel

Pause keeps your membership inactive for 4 weeks to 6 months after the current cycle, saves previous recordings until the pause ends (still subject to the usual 9-month recording limit), and resumes billing automatically. Cancel ends the membership after the paid period; recordings then expire in 21 days. Source: Cancel or pause.

YouTube TV vs YouTube Premium

YouTube TV is a live-TV service with local and cable networks. YouTube Premium removes ads on youtube.com and YouTube Music - see YouTube Premium cancel. Premium is not included with YouTube TV.
